SFA Group Awarded Silver Medal by Greenly for Outstanding Climate Strategy

10 January 2024 (Paris): Today SFA Group is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Silver Medal by Greenly, a recognized leader in digital carbon footprints and expert in assessing corporate climate performance. The Silver Medal is a testament to SFA Groups commitment to environmental sustainability and its dedication to mitigating climate impact. 

Following a comprehensive assessment for the year 2022, the SFA Group reported total emissions of 171ktCO2e (use of sold products and end of life excluded), divided into Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. This assessment served as the basis for the company's ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable future. 

Greenly's evaluation process applauded SFA Group’s efforts in establishing a decarbonization trajectory and defining actionable plans. The Silver Medal is a clear indication of SFA Group’s position among the top 10% of evaluated companies, signifying its proactive approach towards climate action and environmental responsibility. 

To obtain this Medal, the Group implemented a multi-year reduction trajectory with clear actions plans and objectives set. It also engaged its suppliers into a sustainable procurement policy. 

In line with this commitment, the Group has outlined strategic initiatives to further bolster its environmental sustainability: 

• Eco-design Initiatives: Conducting comparative Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to eco-design products, prioritizing sustainability throughout their life cycles. 

• Carbon Impact Purchase Policy: Implementing carbon impact considerations in the company's procurement policy to favor suppliers aligned with sustainable practices. 

• Customer Awareness: Educating and informing customers about the environmental impact of their purchases to encourage more eco-conscious decisions. 

• Transition to Sustainable Freight: Shifting away from thermal truck freight to embrace more sustainable alternatives, reducing carbon-intensive transportation methods. 

• Travel Policy Update: Updating the travel policy to prioritize train travel, reducing reliance on carbon-intensive modes of transportation.
